Canada concludes security force training in Jamaica, including Belizean troops, for Haiti Mission

The Government of Canada, through the Canadian Armed Forces, has recently concluded an operation to train military personnel from CARICOM nations. This training is part of Canada’s response to the worsening humanitarian and security crisis in Haiti.

Approximately 70 Canadian Armed Forces members deployed to Jamaica. At the request of the Jamaican government, they provided training to military personnel from Caribbean Community (CARICOM) nations who are set to deploy to Haiti as part of the United Nations-authorized, Kenyan-led, Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission.
