Our Economics Department worked with regional Central Banks and will be presenting findings on research analysing the impact of local and global temperature shocks on Caribbean economies.

* The statistically significant effects on regional GDP.
* The transmission through construction, manufacturing, and agriculture sectors.
* The impacts via lower investment and consumption, with global shocks having a larger effect.
* Heterogeneous growth effects across countries, highlighting varied sectoral sensitivities.

Based on annual data from 1980 to 2022 and using local projection methods, the results underscore the urgent need for targeted, sector-specific adaptation strategies.
