CARICOM Member States, along with Canada, are members of the Commonwealth. All will be preparing for the next Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in Samoa from October 21, 2024 to October 25, 2024.
As is usual for such meetings the agenda for this meeting will focus on a range of issues. Three issues stand out at this point as worth watching.

Small Island Developing States
The meeting in Samoa will be the first CHOGM to be held in a Pacific Small Island Developing State. As such it is expected that there will be significant discussion of the needs of SIDS, including CARICOM states.
Reparations
There have been indications that CARICOM will use the occasion of the Commonwealth Summit to press other nations to support and respond to the CARICOM Reparations.
As the Summit approaches and additional information is available, the Canada Caribbean Institute (CCI) will seek to disseminate it.
